Not very many people can say they helped Build a House. But I can say that I helped Build two houses. When I was 14 my parent's decided to build their dream house that they had planned on building ever since they had got married. So 16 years later they built the house, since I was 14 I was old enough to help Build the House.
My
Grandpa, Grandma, Mom & I mainly built the House. Of course we had
help, because 4 people is just not enough to Build a House. My Dad helped
only on the weekends, we hired my cousin's husband (at the time) to help
also. We had some family come help from time to time, especially for the
heavy trusses.
One
thing about Building a House with my Mom, she said we needed to write on
everything! So we all signed the walls, roof & the floors.
Everywhere you can think of we put our names & the date.
What I
didn't know at the time of building my parents house was that when I got
married I would be helping to Build a House again. My husband & I,
with some family & friends help, built the house we live in now.
Building
a House is a great experience. I learned so much & can now build
little projects that I want to do without my husband’s help. I mean why
ask him to build something for me if I’m quite capable to build it on my
own. If you ever have the chance to Build a house, I say jump on that
opportunity. Even if all your able to do is help. You will glad
that you did.
Even
though building the houses was a way to get closer to each person that I built
the different house's with. I'm not sure I would want to build yet
another house. I think I would rather pay someone else to Build a House
for me.
What
would you do? Would you Build a House or have one built for you.
